Pants on fire?

Posted by Tom Bodden on April 20, 2007 2:23 PM |

Plaid Cymru leader Ieuan Wyn Jones challenged first minster Rhodri Morgan to call him a liar.
The Ynys Mon AM has had enough of continually denying Labour accusations that he would be willing prop up a Tory-led coalition after the Assembly elections.
“Is Rhodri Morgan calling me a liar? If he is not, then both him and his party should desist from such dishonest campaigning," Mr Jones said.
He also challenged Mr Morgan to stop the Tories' chance of being in government by considering a coalition deal with Plaid Cymru.
Is Rhodri bovvered?

The Plaid leader said: “They (Labour) have run the most negative campaign in electoral history, stoking up fears and trying to frighten the electorate into voting for them.
“I have said categorically that I will never lead my party to serve under a Tory First Minister. Labour’s Tory bogeyman therefore directly questions my personal integrity.
“Is Rhodri Morgan calling me a liar? If he is not, then both him and his party should desist from such dishonest campaigning.
“Labour faces meltdown on May the third; an inevitable consequence of their continuing reliance on spin and smear.”
Mr Jones also said on BBC Radio Wales: "Our door is open to discussions with the Labour Party. Now if the Labour Party are prepared to knock on that door there will be no Conservative minister in the Assembly.”
Some Plaid candidates would prefer no deals at all with Conservatives in government. (Hat Tip: Wales Elects 2007)

I suspect there will be even more about this before May 3.
