Blair Jail Threat

Posted by Tom Bodden on September 15, 2007 5:49 PM |

Did he really mean it?
Plaid strategist Adam Price warned that when the Welsh Assembly ruled over criminal justice, it could pass a law so that if Tony Blair came to Wales, he could be thrown in jail.
Well there is still a law allowing Welshmen to be shot by crossbow inside Chester's city walls after dark, isn't there?

Closing the Plaid conference in Llandudno, the Carmarthen East MP questioned whether making 'the second most hated man in the Middle East' a peace envoy was a smart move.
And he had a warning for Mr Blair from political history.
"One word of advice," he cautioned the ex-prime minster, "Remember Pinochet.
"Be careful where you holiday, Mr Blair.
"Spain and Belgium have already made the crime of aggression illegal in domestic law.
"And when criminal justice is transferred to the assembly we'll make it a crime here too: retrospectively.
"We may not have succeeded in impeaching you but we helped force you out office."
In a speech that called for tax powers for Wales alongside a full law-making parliament, a £1bn 'solidarity fund' from Westminster to help eradicate child and pensioner poverty in Wales; and a share of the £10bn London Olympics cash, Mr Price aims to make the most of power-sharing with Labour in a future hung Westminster parliament.
"Our radical and democratic socialist government is an exciting chapter in our history, a history that we are finally writing ourselves," he said.

I'd rather see him tried at the War crimes tribunal alongside his praying partner Bush
