First for news

North Wales Plaid AM Janet Ryder has welcomed the appointment of her colleague, Arfon AM Alun Ffred Jones as the new heritage minister.
She says in a press release that this is good news for Wrexham football fans hoping for an Assembly Government grant to boost ground redevelopment.
"Alun Ffred is also from the North and is a football fan as well as a former player in the amateur leagues," Mrs Ryder said.
Unfortunately, as of 12.37pm when the press release reached the media, the ministerial appointment had yet to be confirmed by the Assembly Government, or indeed by the Queen.
UPDATE 1: The press release was 'recalled' at 14.09. Is there still time to get a bet on Alun Ffred as the new minister at the bookies?
UPDATE 2: 14.59 First Minister Rhodri Morgan announced that Alun Ffred Jones has been appointed as Heritage Minister in his Cabinet following the resignation of Rhodri Glyn Thomas.
